Course Requirements
To obtain a CCW License, you are required to complete a certified CCW course. In order to complete the course you must qualify with all the firearms you intend to list on your CCW license. There is a maximum of five weapons in Shasta County, three weapons in Siskiyou County, Trinity, Lassen and Tehama allowed on a CCW license. Modoc County allows 4. To qualify with your firearms you need to demonstrate adequate proficiency with each of your weapons.
Understand that Shasta County Sheriff’s Office is your only issuing agency in the County. Siskiyou County provides CCW permits for those living outside of a city municipality. If you live within the city limits of Yreka, Weed, Mount Shasta, Tulelake, or Etna, you would apply directly with that agency.
